Arroyo de la Miel is a small coastal town on the outskirts of Benalmadena that offers visitors to the Costa del Sol region a glimpse into the age old traditions of Spanish life and culture. As Benalmadena has grown so to has its cultural borders and today Arroyo de la Miel is widely considered to be a part of Benalmadena, it may help to think of it as a suburb of Benalmadena.

Arroyo de la Miel is such an appealing destination to Spanish holiday makers because it offers loads of different activities for individual and family travelers alike, while also offering the traditional winding cobbled streets and sun bleached villas that many people associate with off the beaten track Spanish style travelling.

What to do in Arroyo de la Miel

Arroyo de la Miel is served very well by public transport so getting to Arroyo from anywhere in the Costa del Sol region is very easy. You will find the major train station right in the center of town, the train station connects Arroyo de la Miel to Benalmadena, Malaga and Fuengirola from which you can access basically the whole of Spain.

There are two major attractions found in Arroyo – Tivoli World and The Telecabina.

Tivoli World is rated as the largest family entertainment center on the Costa del Sol and is found only a short 2 minute stroll from the Arroyo de la Miel train station. Tivoli World is well known for offering families over 30 different rides and attractions, flamenco dancing, wild west theme shows, live music, restaurants, comedy shows and childrens shows. The amusement park is styled around the highly popular Disneyland style amusement park.

The Telecabina (Teleferico Cable Car) is also situated within Arroyo de la Miel and offers tourists the chance to take a ride up to the highest point in the Malaga area. The views from the summit of the mountain on a clear day are spectacular and will quite literally take your breath away. As well as these two great attractions Arroyo has many great restaurants and bars as well as a fantastic little shopping center. So if you’d prefer just to take a stroll around the little village and soak up much of its Spanish charm, then you will be well served by these facets of the community.
